The International Journal of Manuscripts & Libraries for Specialized Research, published quarterly on behalf of the Malaysian Institute of Science and Development is a referred scientific journal, which is supervised by a group of scholars who are specialized in heritage, museums, and library studies in the Arab and international universities.

The journal concerns with public intellectuals, persons interested in heritage and manuscripts, text editors, graduate researchers, researchers of manuscripts, librarians and information centres, in support of being a pioneer journal that seeks to make heritage a deep rooted science, art, entertainment, and education within an attractive framework of knowledge, as a leading journal in the field of heritage, documentations, and manuscripts studies at the national and international levels. Furthermore, the journal publishes authentic and distinguished scientific, technical and applied researches in an attempt to become a significant and added value journal in the field of electronic media, which takes advantage of the valuable components of manuscripts to regain its original beauty and the identity of Arabs and Muslims since they represent national, historical, ideological identities. In addition to this, manuscripts are regarded as a source of pride of the heritage left by our parents and ancestors including sciences, cultures, knowledge, and arts.



INDEXING MANUSCRIPTS IN MOROCCO

Abstract:

This paper deals with "cataloging manuscripts in Morocco". An intellectual monitoring of the efforts of Moroccan scholars in preserving and studying manuscripts, by studying the history of manuscripts in Morocco. The importance of the topic of this research is evident in its presentation of the major issues that formed points of agreement between the science of libraries and the science of verification of manuscripts. In addition, this study intends to present texts according to an accurate scientific method. Through this research, we will answer the origins of cataloging in Morocco, the political conditions that contributed to the interest in the study of manuscripts, and how cultural structures are formed in the course of manuscript study? Where is the efforts of investigators to catalog manuscripts? What are the challenges that faced the path of manuscripts in Morocco?

The analytical method is the main method in this study, by extrapolating texts from their original sources, and trying to understand their historical context. By relying on specialized research and studies on the subject, analyzing the ideas and interpretations of academic researchers, and commenting as the last stage of addressing the research problem and answering it. Search results are clear; About the extent of Moroccan interest in the manuscript, its protection and maintenance.
