(THE IMPORTANCE OF MANUSCRIPTS AND THEIR IMPACT ON SCIENCE AND HUMAN KNOWLEDGE)

The importance of manuscripts and their impact on science and human knowledge is a case study (West Africa). The manuscripts are the works of scholars and their works, which is an updated word after printing. Therefore, there is no mention of this word or manuscript in the words of the applicants. This was done after the entry of printing, so the books became two sections: manuscripts, and printings, some of which were written by hand, called a manuscript, God and peace be upon him, and the jurisprudence of the nation, And the nation, otherwise, is not a nation. There is no doubt that we are still in dire need of it today, but the more years we have progressed, the greater our need and the need of the nation in general. The duties of competencies, so that if it is estimated that no one did: sin is a reality for everyone.

Based on the interest of West Africa in highlighting the Islamic civilization and its effective role in all fields, especially with regard to science, the Manuscripts Department was established and entrusted with the task of collecting as much of the heritage of the Arab and Islamic nation as possible by acquiring or indexing original manuscripts, The catalog of manuscripts in the world classified by countries, and these catalogs are sources of information relied upon in the base of the Treasury of the heritage, which is a comprehensive exclusive of the Islamic manuscripts and places of existence in various parts of the world The section deals with these holdings in a scientific way codified, In terms of registration, cataloging, arrangement and display. The manuscripts are recorded in special records and numbered, and then entered into the computer, and arranged in their place inside the memorization hall specially designed for this purpose. They are equipped with controls in degrees of light, heat and humidity, Integrated, fire-fighting system.

The importance of manuscripts in the West Africa region is due to the fact that field studies and studies have proved that this region is one of the richest areas in the western continent with valuable Arabic manuscripts. Some interested in this field mentioned that it exceeded tens, but hundreds of thousands of manuscript books and tens of thousands of letters, documents, contracts, It is not surprising that there has been an enormous accumulation of books in the region for many reasons. The book has enjoyed the greatest share of public and private interest in this region. Most of the vast wealth of manuscript books now in our hands is the result of the legacy of the ancestors For the children and grandchildren, which accumulated in that era, and the scientific families have retained most of this wealth in addition to the writings of scientists and local scholars, who influenced the local libraries, and African value and distinctive composition.

There is no doubt that the African manuscripts and documents in the region are more organized and accessible to the researchers, which is located in the Ahmad Baba Altembekti Center for Documents and Manuscripts, which includes thousands of them, in addition to the local libraries located in the city of Timbuktu itself, such as the Library of the Haiderh manuscripts, the library of Mahmoud Kaat, , The library of Sheikh Mohammed Mahmoud al-Arwani, the library of imams in the Jangkirir mosque, the Sankri mosque, the Sidi Yahya al-Tadli mosque, and some of the local libraries in the villages and the Madashar of Timbuktu.

These are examples of some of the local libraries in the region, which are rich in thousands of manuscript books, rare historical documents and manuscripts, most of which are stored in iron and wood boxes. This is a bad method that often leads to serious damage to the manuscript and some of them are kept in vessels made of animal skins
